First Year Meeting
On July 27th, 2022, at 9.00 am, the Università del Piemonte Orientale (UNIUPO, P2) in Alessandria, hosted the first-year-off meeting of the project: Agroecology-inspired Strategies and Tools to Enhance Resilence and ecosystem services in tomato crop (ASTER), officially started on June 1st, 2022. The meeting was held in a hybrid mode, including some participants in presence, namely personnel from IPSP, personnel from Università del Piemonte Orientale (UNIUPO, P2), personnel from IVIA (P5), personnel from USMBA (P15), personnel from ISA-PT (p3) and the rest of participants connected on line via Go-To-Meeting platform

On May 22nd – 23rd, 2023, The Conference on Water, Agriculture & Enviroment. The USBMA Team presented the ASTER project on conference organized in their university. The event was attended by stakeholders, agricultural researcher, representative of different departments of the Ministry of Agriculture, and representatives of international organization as FAO and others.
ENAM TEAM PRESENTED THE PROJECT ASTER AT The 15th edition of the International Agricultural Exhibition IN MEKNES, MOROCCO
On May 2nd – 4th, 2023, The 15th edition of the International Agricultural Exhibition (SIAM) took place in Meknes, Morocco. The ENAM Team presented the ASTER project on conference organized on sidelines of SIAM.
The event was attended by stakeholders, agricultural researcher, representative of different departments of the Ministry of Agriculture, and representatives of international organization as FAO and others.

IVIA Researchers Present ASTER (PRIMA) Project at Horticultural Coordination Meeting organized by Cooperatives Agroalimentàries of the Valencian Community, Spain
On March 9th, 2023, Cooperatives Agroalimentàries de la Comunitat Valenciana organized a Coordination Meeting for Horticulture at the Valencian Institute for Agricultural Research (IVIA). The meeting brought together specialists in the field of plant health in horticultural crops, who discussed the challenges faced by different crops and strategies to overcome them.
During the meeting, IVIA researchers Alberto Urbaneja and Meritxell Pérez-Hedo presented the PRIMA project “Agroecology-inspired Strategies and Tools to Enhance Resilience and Ecosystem Services in Tomato Crop ASTER.” The ASTER project aims to promote the implementation of agroecology strategies to improve tomato production and ensure its resilience to climate change. The project also aims to enhance ecosystem services in tomato cultivation, which will contribute to improving the quality of life for those working in production and protect the biodiversity of the area. The meeting also discussed potential collaborations between IVIA and Federació Cooperatives to further improve the results of the ASTER project.
The meeting concluded with a visit to the ongoing tomato pest control trials within the ASTER project at IVIA.

Apostolos Kapranas Presents ASTER Project at the 8th National Crop Protection Conference
During the 8th National Crop Protection Conference in Greece on February 21, 2023, Apostolos Kapranas delivered a presentation titled “Biological Control: Emerging Challenges and Trends in a Changing Environment.” The conference boasted a substantial attendance of approximately 800 participants.
