From June 16–20, 2025, the CNR-IPSP team took part in the Italian National Congress of Entomology (CNIE2025) in Siena, presenting a poster on the ASTER project’s preliminary field trial results.

The poster, titled “Agroecological management of processing tomato crop pests in Campania: effect of inter-cropping, border-cropping, and root symbionts on the control of Phthorimaea (=Tuta) absoluta and on the biodiversity of the agricultural system”, focused on sustainable strategies to manage Tuta absoluta.

Field trials tested intercropping, border-cropping, and beneficial root symbionts to reduce pest pressure and enhance biodiversity. Early results are promising and support agroecological approaches for more resilient tomato production systems.
